ESSAY WRITING (निबंध लेखन):
An essay is a cohesive and coherent composition that explores a particular topic in depth. It could possibly involve the retelling of various events, substances, creatures, buildings, and so forth. Essays can encompass abstract subjects such as youth, friendship, truth, and more.
The purpose of an essay is to articulate one's thoughts on a specified subject. In an essay, two factors are of utmost importance: the choice of subject matter and the quality of expression. The prevailing notion among newcomers is that the significance lies in expression rather than the substance. In reality, both the elements are equally crucial.
PART OF ESSAY: The ideal essay format includes five paragraphs, and typically divided into three main sections:
THE FIVE-PARAGRAPH ESSAY’S STRUCTURE:
Ø Introduction [One Paragraph]
Ø Body [Three Paragraphs]
Ø Conclusion [One Paragraph]
Introduction: The content should be concise, captivating, and effectively convey the importance of the topic. The opening sentence ought to provide a preview of what will follow. The subject must effectively convey its central theme.
The Body of an Essay: This is the main part of the essay, where the arguments and evidence are presented. The writer should include essential information, facts, ideas, visual examples, and personal insights on the given topic. Here you should adhere closely to your outline. It is essential that the paragraphs are meticulously constructed and arranged in a logical sequence. Show the connection between points instead of jumping.
Paragraphs must have a topic sentence that relates to the thesis/topic/ideas statement. Three types of order for Logical ordering of ideas:
1. Chronological order---order of time, good for narratives
2. Spatial order-good for descriptions of locations; from top to bottom
3. Emphatic order: from least important to most important
Plus, ensure that transition sentences are present to create a good flow to the essay
Conclusion: The ending, like the beginning, should be concise and impactful. It should be smooth and gradual. Summarizing the main points is a solution, if impossible. Above all, the last paragraph should be striking and pleasing.
